Are you the fastest Lucio to have ever lived? Let’s find out…
If you missed out last week and have no idea what the Amp It Up series is about, educate yo self:
Last Week – Kings Row Winner!
First I’d like to thank everyone that participated. It’s a lot of effort recording your run and practicing all the different routes.
The fastest time for Kings Row: Attack was 13.14 seconds! Congratulations to PlasmaNapkin, check out his sick run:
PlasmaNapkin gets to hippity hop away with $50 – well done!
Alright, let’s take it from the top…
While round 1 was mostly a success, there were some glaring issues that I need to address. These new rules will hopefully make everything more clear.
- The floor is lava – if you land (screen wobble + landing noise / voiceline), you get turned into a Lose-io
- Wall riding and jumping only – sliding doesn’t count as a landing (weird rooftops and ledges = okay)
- Abilities can be used – gaining speed in spawn before your run is not only accepted, it’s encouraged! We’re here to break the sound barrier…
- Leave spawn airborne – any exit! Ignore the healing part of spawn, ‘leaving spawn’ is leaving the restricted area completely
- Finish line is the final point – slam down using your ultimate (you have to land inside the circle!)
- Record your full run with no video cuts!
- Show lobby settings before your run or after your run
- Include a timer – starts the second you are completely out of spawn – stops when your ultimate shield is applied on the final point!
Now before I give you tinnitus, let’s move onto the second round of the Lucio Time Trials:
Round 2 – Eichenwalde: Attack
Due to a bombardment of messages and votes, the next map will be Eichenwalde! This one is going to be a pain in the arse guys, not gonna lie. To enter the third point, you have to squeeze through a tiny gap in the door or two tunnels… All I can say is good luck!
To add to the difficulty, we’re also going to spice it up a bit this time. Instead of getting to the final point as fast as you can, you now have to hit a checkpoint before the final point is unlocked.
You need to rub your nuts (wall ride) directly across the top window of the watch tower on the final point (highlighted the specific window below). When you’ve flashed the occupants and left a sweaty stain, it’s a race to the final point.
Remember, your timer starts the second you are completely out of spawn. You may use any of the exits available and you are encouraged to build up speed in spawn before you fly out!
In order for your run to qualify, you need to slam down using your ultimate on the final point inside the obvious circle. Stop your timer when your shield is applied.
I’m really looking forward to the runs that will come out of this map!
The Winning Bounty – $50!
The winner will receive $50 for all their hard work! Treat your friend to a copy of Overwatch. Drown yourself in loot boxes. Indulge in a Roadhog body pillow.
The options are limitless, use your imagination…
How To Enter & The Deadline
Make sure you drop a link to your video on this article, the Reddit thread or the YouTube video. Make sure we see it!
Upload your run before 22:00 British Summer Time – 30th of April.
If your video is not published and linked by that point, you will miss out on the prize.
Keep in mind that no one will hold the record forever! This deadline is only for the prize. The best speed running time will always be up for grabs!
Get Involved – Double Time!
Which map would you like to see featured next?
What can be improved?
What checkpoints / mini-games can you come up with?
Come on, let’s bring it together! Let’s try to get a community competitive event running on a weekly basis! Tell your friends, notify the discords, hit up your favorite streamers to see if they’re up for a challenge!
I think if we all work together as a team, we’re gonna do great.
Thanks for reading – DROPS BEAT (Okay that one was a bit forced – is it hot in here or just me?)
Kruise and Stanky you’re getting CALLED OUT. I’ll let last week slip, but you chickens better upload a decent time this week!
